To equip our church family to love God and others and to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
A. In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
B. That the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and are the final authority for all Christian faith and life.
C. That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures, and He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where He is at the right hand of the Majesty on High. He now is our High Priest , Advocate, and Head of the Church, who will one day return to reign as King on the earth.
D. That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He is given to this age to regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
E. That man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and eternal life be obtained.
F. That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.
G. That the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head.
H. In the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
“Changing lives one heart at a time.”
West Suburban Community Church began with five families, and held its first worship service on April 1, 1979. Since it began, the church has had five senior pastors who have served the church. We also built a new facility on the same site and moved into it in 2004.
1. The centrality of Jesus Christ and the Word of God.
2. Being a loving community of Jesus’ followers.
3. Equipping committed disciples of Christ.
4. Reaching the lost in our community.
