The Gospel Sets Us Free

Written by:

In Galatians Paul describes the effect of the Gospel in terms of our freedom.  “For freedom Christ has set you free.”  But what are we free from?

Here are a few freedoms the Gospel makes possible for those who believe in Jesus:

I am free from failure for “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil. 4:13)

I am free from want for “My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19)

I am free from fear for “God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”  (II Tim. 1:7)

I am free from the power of Satan, “Because great is He that is ion you, than he that is in the world.” (I Jn. 4:4)

I am free from defeat, “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in Triumph ion Christ.”  (II Cor. 2:14)

I am free from sin for “The blood of Jesus Christ purifies us from all sin.”  (I Jn. 1:7)

I am free from worry for “I cast my cares upon Him, for He cares for me.” (I Pet. 5:7)

I am free from bondage for “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”  (II Cor. 3:17)

I am free from condemnation for “There is therefore no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus.”  (Rom. 8:1)
